ALL NIGHT SERVICE – MEC, 2015

ALL NIGHT SERVICE – MEC, 2015

Oct 25, 2015

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, (Luke 4:18)

Crowning the Messianic Encounter Conference week with an all-night service, the Host Pastor Emmanuel Kwesi Acquah speaking on an extract from the text above “recovery of sight for the blind” said that there are different dimensions of blindness.

  • The physical blindness

He explained physical blindness to be as a result of people being born blind or might be blind due to an accident that affects the eye or other reasons. He gave an example pertaining to the severity of physical blindness.

Illustrating the joy of recovery of site, he referred to a report of a 24 year old young man who looking through a train’s window shouted Dad look ‘ The trees are going behind; they are moving very fast” and also said ‘The clouds are moving with us”. Some passengers begun to confront his father about his son’s behaviour and need for medical attention suggesting he had a mental challenge, but his father smiled in response saying that they are just from a seeing a doctor but not a Psychiatrist and that his ‘son was blind from birth. He got his sight today for the very first time, his behaviour may seem stupid to you, its more than a miracle to me”

Ps Acquah intimated that physical blindness is very challenging but there is another level of blindness that is much more severe i.e. the blindness that affects the eye of our understanding.

  • The blindness that affects the understanding of our eyes.

He said that this form of blindness is very severe because if you are blind in your understanding, then, you cannot see or recognize the move of God. The bible says that when the hour of the Lord’s visitation came, the Jews could not see. I pray that as you read this text may the eyes of your understanding be opened so that you will not miss your opportunity.

He further exclaimed that whenever an individual encounters the Messiah his/her eyes are opened to see God and his ways.

There are so many decisions we make in life every day. Decisions about marriage, choice of work, place of living which is not embedded in the word of God but because the Holy Spirit is in us we need to know the mind of God about our decisions. And if the Messiah is full of us, we might not hear or see anything sometimes, but we will just know what to do because God has opened the eyes of our understanding. And due to this, the plans we make become synonymous to the plans of God.

As you read this text may the eyes of your understanding be opened in the name of Jesus Christ.

DAY 5 – MEC, 2015

DAY 5 – MEC, 2015

Oct 20, 2015

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast”. (1st Peter 5:10)

Speaking on the theme “Messianic Alignment” (the alignment with the purpose of God), Apostle Offei Ankra-Badu said that the meeting was purposely to encourage ourselves and allow the move of God.

He said that any meeting of saints is like a training field because the actual event is out there in the world and looking at the text read in 1st Peter brings to our understanding that God is the God of all Grace and he is the one who has called us in his Grace and will honor us. Halleluyah.

God knew us before he called us and he changed our destinies through the acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ. But the most painful thing is to be called by him and we do not answer because the answering to God’s call brings about blessing. I pray as you read this text may you not miss your calling in Jesus name.

Because we are called by God, we are assured of his presence anytime we go before him and we are not discouraged by the absence of someone since our focus is on him.

He further said that we have become the sons of God and need to justify the call of God upon our lives. That is to live a life that is worthy of the calling, whether in our offices, our homes, wherever we find ourselves we need to justify our son ship.

The call of God is to honor and not to disgrace us. He touched on 4 important steps to follow that will bring about the honor of God upon our lives.

  • Being aligned with the purpose of God.
  • Having a team spirit.
  • Creating the badly needed dividing line.
  • Forcing out our personal agendas for God.

In conclusion, He said that we need not to wait to understand what God is telling us before we act. In the economy of God, obedience brings understanding. If we want to understand God and his word before we act, then we will be late.  Proper alignment removes all excuses.

It’s Safer With Jesus

It’s Safer With Jesus

Oct 16, 2015

Many a time people seemed to follow Jesus wherever He went – to towns and villages, hills and mountainsides, streets and synagogues. Perhaps most went after Him to see the miracles and healings. Many might have been curious about his teachings. Some may have even been amused by His wisdom of the Torah (5 books of Moses) and prophecy.

Despite many that pursued him daily, very few followers made the commitment to go with Jesus. Only a handful of disciples decided to walk away from the past, to leave family and friends, to give up homes and occupations, to sacrifice their own lives for the lives of others. In the end, just a small band of ordinary men were willing to surrender all they possessed for the hope of what was to come in eternity.

You and I have a choice to make today. We can follow Jesus or we can go with Him. We may watch and observe from a distance or we can be right next to Him, close enough to feel His touch, hear Him breathing and see the compassion in His eyes. We can be there when He prays to the Father and when He is tempted by the world. We can know Him intimately, as a friend, as a brother and as a Savior.

When we decide to go along with Jesus we do more than watch passively from afar. We become a part of His life and He becomes part of ours. What He does affects us and what we do affects Him. In essence, we are yoked with Him. There is no longer any space or separation between us because we are living together. We are both one in the Father.

There is a price for following Christ. But there also are blessings. Too often, Christians look so long at the price to pay, what to give up, but forget about the benefits. We concentrate on the difficulties, the problems, the personal struggles or the intense suffering. Instead, we should be focused on what we have been given.

  • First, we have eternal life. God has promised us an everlasting future after this brief time on earth.
  • Second, His mercy and forgiveness are assured no matter what happens each day.
  • Third, God has planned our lives in a good and perfect way.
  • Fourth, He is always with us through each attack and trial.
  • Fifth, nothing will happen to us without His control and knowledge.
  • Sixth, He gives us His strength, His power and His authority.
  • Seventh, He protects us from the enemy so that we will not fall or fail.

How much more do we need in order to realize that we gain much more than we ever lose by serving God? Even those things that we sacrifice are turned into good through God. Everything that happens, whether we label it good or bad, points toward where we are headed, not where we have been.

Our sights must be firmly fixed on what we already possess and all that awaits us. Like Paul in his letter to the Philippians, we must consider everything worthless and unimportant “compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus.” All we forfeit now we will get back a thousand-fold in paradise. God’s scale of justice is always weighted in our favor because of his unconditional love. We can never lose, nor will we ever be sold short.

DAY 4 – MEC, 2015

DAY 4 – MEC, 2015

Oct 16, 2015

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”.(1st Thessalonians 4: 16-17.(KJV)

Sermon of the day 4 Messianic Encounter (Morning Session) was delivered by the woman of God, Mrs. Abigail Nana Topre Acquah. She spoke on the theme, “The Great Encounter”. She explained that there are several types of encounters but there is a greater one, that is, the encounter with the Messiah. She mentioned several ways through which God encounters us.

Firstly, she spoke about circumstantial encounters. This form of encounter can be in your good moments, thus, when you might have received a promotion in life, such an honor makes you know the power of the Messiah. Also, in bad times when one is imprisoned with sickness, accident etc, one can encounter the Messiah.

Secondly, we can also encounter the Messiah through his word, as we listen, read and study his word. .Also, through dreams God can encounter his children.

God encounters his people in several ways so even as you read this text may you have an encounter with him and never miss your encounter in the name of Jesus.

DAY 3 – MEC, 2015

DAY 3 – MEC, 2015

Oct 16, 2015

The 2015 edition of the Messianic Encounter Conference on day 3 had a new spiritual dimension as Apostle Alfred Kodua gave vivid biblical examples of the importance of encountering the Messiah. He said that another name you can give to the Messaianic encounter is the divine encounter.

Firstly, he explained that when an individual encounters the Messiah, his or her faith in him is strengthened. He spoke of Abraham’s encounter with God that changed his name “Abram” to “Abraham” and then receiving the promise of becoming the father of many nations.

He further explained that when one encounters the Messiah, he or she is not forced to perform certain spiritual exercises like payment of Tithe. (Abraham’s encounter with Melchizedek a type of Christ, the Messiah portrayed in the Old Testament) “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God”. (Genesis 14:18) KJV

Also, when you encounter the Messiah, you receive grace to be truthful. Zacchaeus was transformed after his encounter with Jesus Christ. “Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.  All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19: 1-10) KJV

He also exclaimed that an encounter with the Messiah brings about Miracles. As you read this text may you receive a miracle now in the name of Jesus Christ.

DAY 2 – MEC, 2015

DAY 2 – MEC, 2015

Oct 16, 2015

“As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing”. (John 9:1-7)

The evening session of the Messianic Encounter Conference, 13th October, 2015, day two, was spearheaded by Apostle Nana Yaw Adjei.

Speaking on the Messiah and the unfamiliar Method, (John 9:1-7) the Apostle of God explained that the Power of God can be demonstrated in many ways, like Jesus healing the Blind man with his own method, going close to the blind man and healing him with saliva and sand.

He further exclaimed that Jesus is the master of all situations and knows how to handle every situation his own way. The bible says that at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.

“All methods from prayer to praise, worship and clapping shall work in your life” he said.

The ability of God commences where the capacity of man ends. So even as The Messiah has been encountered in the conference, certain methods shall begin to work in our lives, in the name of Jesus.

DAY 1 – MEC, 2015

Day One of the Messianic Encounter Conference (MEC) 2015

The 2015 edition of the Messianic Encounter Conference, begun on the 12th at the Church of Pentecost, Bethel Assembly, receiving a major gathering for this spiritual and mental orientation.

The Long awaited conference was opened at the church premises in New Takoradi.

Speakers at the conference were Apostle Alfred Koduah, Apostle Nana Yaw, Apostle Emmanuel Akra-Badu and Host, Pastor Emmanuel Kwesi Acquah.

The congregation on the first day was blessed by the host pastor as he enlightened them on the theme of the conference “Jesus the Christ”. He said that whoever has full knowledge of the Christ and encounters him is transformed for the best.

He then touched on an inspiring sermon on the “Messianic Trade Mark”. (What makes the presence of the Messiah evident in the life of a Christian) and under this he spoke about the MASHACH anointing being the religious rite of anointing a Priest, King or a Prophet. And Jesus Christ being the MASCHIACH, thus, one who carries the triple anointing (King, Priest and Prophet).

Therefore, whoever encounters the Messiah automatically carries the triple anointing.
